On Sunday, June 7th the Consulate-General of Japan in Calgary participated in the Kurimoto Japanese Garden Spring Festival held at University of Alberta’s Devonian Botanic Gardens. This year’s Festival marked the 25th anniversary since the Kurimoto Japanese Garden’s foundation, with thousands of attendees enjoying cultural, art, dance, and music demonstrations & exhibitions as well as delicious Japanese food. In addition to having a cultural & information booth set up with photos from last year’s Japan Photo Contest winners, The Consulate-General of Japan also supported an Ikebana demonstration by the EJCA Ikebana Club, led by Ikebana Master Jean-Marcel Duciaume, which was very well-received by visitors. The beautiful weather and the abundance of festivities and entertainment ensured a great success for this year’s Festival.
