The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) ProgrammeRecruiting for the 2010 JET Programme has concluded. This year's Interviews will take place at the following locations and times: February 12th - 14th at the Manitoba Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre: 180 McPhillips Street, Winnipeg, MB February 16th - 19th at the Consulate General of Japan in Calgary: 2300 TransCanada Tower 450-1st Street SW, Calgary, AB The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme aims to promote internationalization at the local level through fostering ties between Japanese and foreign youth. Once a year, the Japanese government invites overseas university graduates from 39 countries to assist in international exchange and foreign language education through this exchange programme. In Japan, JET participants are placed in the public school system as Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) or in local government offices as Coordinators for International Relations (CIRs).
