Hiroshi Yamaguchi Shamisen Performance

Renowned Shamisen artist Hiroshi Yamaguchi will be performing at the National Music Centre in Calgary on September 8th, 2015! Shamisen is a traditional Japanese musical instrument with three strings that produces a variety of beautiful sounds. Hiroshi Yamaguchi has had great success at home in Japan, where he has played for the Imperial prince, Mikasanomiya Takahito. He has also performed internationally in many countries including Canada, the United States, China, Germany, and the UK.

The evening will include a duo impromptu session with local guest saxophonist Simon MacLeod of Calgary for a cross-cultural experience that is truly unique!
