The Japan Foundation Programs

The Japan Foundation (Kokusai Koryu Kikin) was founded in 1972, as a non-profit organization whose objective is to further international mutual understanding through the promotion of cultural exchange between Japan and other countries. For this purpose, a wide range of programs are conducted in over 180 countries.

Applications for the Japan Foundation Fiscal Year 2024 Programs Have Arrived!

Please note that though previous applications from our jurisdiction were to be sent to the Consulate-General of Japan in Calgary, this year there has been a change and all Japan Foundation Program Applications are to be sent directly to the Japan Foundation in Toronto (address below).


In order to expedite your application process and to ensure that your applications make their way to Japan Foundation Toronto by the application deadline, please access the downloadable Program Guidelines and Program List from the Japan Foundation website links below.
