CINEMA KABUKI Performances

On Sunday, November 1st the Japan Foundation and the Consulate-General of Japan in Calgary hosted CINEMA KABUKI at Cineplex Odeon Eau Claire Market. Consul General Tamura gave remarks at the two traditional Kabuki performances presented: LION DANCE and KAGOTSURUBE, THE HAUNTED SWORD, live performances which were previously captured in high definition in Japan and played back on the big screen here in Calgary for the very first time. Cinema Kabuki was a success with audiences of over 200 members per performance, some of whom complimented the Japanese atmosphere by wearing traditional kimono.
