Visit by Her Imperial Highness Princess Ayako of Takamado to Calgary & Lethbridge

From July 13th to 15th Her Imperial Highness Princess Ayako of Takamado paid a visit to Calgary and Lethbridge, attending the 50th Anniversary Ceremony of the founding of Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden held on July 14th, as well as visiting the Calgary Stampede, University of Lethbridge, and Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump.

During the proceedings at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden, Her Imperial Highness Princess Ayako expressed her delight at being able to attend the Ceremony at the Garden, a place etched with the history of Japanese-Canadians, in the 150th year of Canada’s foundation. Her Imperial Highness also remarked how grateful she was for the opportunity to come to the very place that her parents had visited 25 years earlier.
