Kimono and Yukata Workshop at Animethon 24

On August 11th, the Consulate-General of Japan partnered with the Edmonton Japanese Community Association to offer a Kimono and Yukata presentation, try on event, and information booth at the Japanese Anime related event Animethon 24, which took place at MacEwan University in Edmonton.
Approximately 180 participants, many in full Anime Cosplay, attended the 20 minute presentation about the history of Kimono and the meaning behind its colors and designs. Following the lecture, participants had the chance to try on a variety of colorful Yukatas and share their photos on social media.
