Consul General Tanabe Hosts Japanese Tea Tasting Event
On the afternoon of October 25th, Consul-General of Japan, Kunihiko Tanabe hosted a Japanese Tea Tasting Event at his Official Residence. The purpose of the event was to increase knowledge of and promote Japanese tea in Alberta. Ms. Michiko Ono, the Japanese Tea Ambassador, facilitated the event showcasing seven different types of Japanese green tea. 21 representatives from cafes, restaurants, media and the Japanese community attended the event. It was the first tea tasting event hosted by the Consulate-General of Japan in Calgary.
