30th Annual Manitoba District Japanese Language Speech Contest

2018/3/2

On March 2nd, 2018, the 30th Annual Manitoba District Japanese Language Speech Contest was held in Winnipeg, MB, at the University of Manitoba. This year 13 students studying Japanese from the University of Manitoba and the University of Winnipeg took part, giving speeches in Japanese on various themes such as family, Japanese boyfriends, and more.

The event marked a turning point in that it was the 30th anniversary of the Contest, and entertainment, including a performance of a kyogen play by Associate Professor and Director of the Asian Studies Centre, Dr. William Lee, as well as a koto musical performance, made for a lively event.
