As part of the lineup of events celebrating the 90th Anniversary of Japan-Canada Diplomatic Relations, The Consulate-General of Japan in Calgary and the University of Calgary are pleased to present a special informational event centered on the popular topic of the Manga of Japan from a professional artist. Join us for two days of lectures, demos, & discussions with Erica Sakurazawa, renowned manga artist of Japan, featuring an intro to Japanese manga, an in-depth look at her fascinating works & influences, as well as a comparison of manga creation in Japan and abroad--complete with demonstrations on the techniques used in her style. Erica Sakurazawa made a name for herself with the popular manga Makin' Happy ('91) and has since developed a large body of works, becoming renowned for her depictions, in particular of women's feelings.
