Kurimoto Japanese Garden Spring Festival 2019
2019/6/11
On June 2nd, Consul General Kobayashi and his wife participated in the Spring Festival held at the Kurimoto Japanese Garden within the University of Alberta Botanic Garden, located in Parkland County, Alberta. This festival is held annually as one of the garden’s main events (hiatus in 2018 due to construction). The day blessed with beautiful weather, sounds of Taiko drum and Japanese harp performances filled the air, as Karate, calligraphy, and various demonstrations took place throughout the garden.
At the Consulate General’s booth, which was buzzing with visitors, there was information on the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics and Japan tourism, as well the exhibition of the winning works of last year’s Japan Photo Contest.
