2019 JET Programme Pre-Departure Orientation and Reception

On August 2nd, the pre-departure orientation and farewell reception for the 33rd JET Programme (Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme) participants were held at the University of Calgary and the Consul General's Residence, respectively, with a total of 36 JET participants attending.
In the morning orientation, Ms. Yoko Riley, a former professor at the University of Calgary gave lectures on Japanese history and culture.
In the afternoon, the farewell reception was held at the Consul General's residence. In addition to the JET participants, there was a total of 100 guests including MP Bob Benzen, the Mayor of Lethbridge, Chris Spearman, MLA Jordan Walker, media representatives, JET Alumni executives, university officials, and more. The JET participants took off from Calgary to Japan on August 3rd.
