Conferment Ceremony for Dr. William James Lee in Winnipeg

On February 12th, 2020, a ceremony was held in Winnipeg, at which Consul General Shigenobu Kobayashi conferred the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette upon Dr. William James Lee, Associate Professor and former Director of the Asian Studies Centre of University of Manitoba. The Consul General introduces Dr. Lee's significant contributions, such as promoting academic exchanges and mutual understanding between Japan and Canada.

17 guests attended this auspicious occasion, including the Honourable Ralph Eicher (Minister of Economic Development and Training, Government of Manitoba), Deputy Mayor Markus Chambers (City of Winnipeg), and Ms. Laurie Schnarr Vice Provost (Students), University of Manitoba.
