Consul-General Takehiko Wajima made an official visit to Regina, Saskatchewan.
He met with the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, Bernadette McIntyre; Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, Todd Goudy; the Minister of Advanced Education, Ken Cheveldayoff; the Minister of Crown Investments Corporation of Saskatchewan, Jeremy Harrison; the Provincial Secretary, Jamie Martens; the Deputy Minister of Immigration and Career Training, Drew Wilby; Assistant Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Penny McCall; Assistant Deputy Minister of Energy and Resources, Cory Hughes and Scott Giroux; Mayor of the City of Regina, Chad Bachynski; Provost and Vice-President of the University of Regina, David Gregory; Director of the Petroleum Technology Research Centre, Majid (Matt) Nasehi; Director of the Clean Energy Technologies Research Institute, Hussam Ibrahim; Program Coordinator of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Heritage Centre, Mark Veneziano.
During these meetings, all parties exchanged opinions on a wide variety of topics including energy, food, resource scarcity, and tourism, as well as the promotion of economic activities and youth exchanges between Japan and Saskatchewan.
