JET Career Support Event & Welcome Back Gathering

On March 15th, Consul-General Wajima hosted a gathering for JET alumni at the official residence to welcome back the JET returnees.
Many guests, including the JET Alumni executives and representatives from Japan-related businesses and cultural groups were present to celebrate and thank the recent JET returnees for their dedication and hard work during their time in Japan. Additionally, JETAASA representative gave a presentation about the alumni association.
Before the gathering, our office held an online career and support seminar for the JET returnees on March 1st. Executives from the JET Alumni Associations in our jurisdiction gave advice to the returnees on various topics, including how to deal with reverse culture shock, how to maintain connections with Japan and Japanese culture, and how to leverage the skills and experience gained from the JET program in job applications and future careers.
