Consul-General Wajima Meets with MP Terry Sheehan

On July 9th, Consul-General Wajima and Deputy Consul-General Matsuo had the pleasure of welcoming MP Terry Sheehan and his wife in Calgary during the lively Stampede. MP Sheehan, Co-Chair of the Canada-Japan Inter-Parliamentary Group (CAJP), is making great strides in strengthening the relationship between Canada and Japan.
MP Sheehan shared insights from his recent trip to Japan, highlighting the importance of ties between the sister provinces, Hokkaido and Alberta.
They reaffirmed their commitment to have close cooperation as we head toward the 100th anniversary Japan-Canada diplomatic relations in 2028. The Consulate General of Japan in Calgary will continue to play an active role in further strengthening Canada-Japan cooperation.
