Conferment of the Order of the Rising Sun

On April 29, 2020, the Government of Japan announced the recipients of the 2020 Spring Conferment of Decorations. The Consulate General of Japan in Calgary is pleased to announce, in no particular order, that Ms. Kumiko Lucy Yamashita (former President of the Manitoba Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre), Ms. Sanae Ohki (President of the Edmonton Japanese Community Association), and Ms. Yoko Hirano Riley (Senior Instructor Emerita, University of Calgary) will be awarded in this year the Order of the Rising Sun.
