On Monday, November 23rd, the University of Alberta Prince Takamado Japan Research and Education Centre held the webinar “Ageing Society in the Era of Pandemics: Seniors’ Life and Care during COVID-19” with the support of our Consulate. Consul General Kobayashi opened the webinar with remarks. Dr. Reiko Hayashi, Deputy Director General of the National Institute of Population and Social Security Research in Japan, and Dr. Jasneet Parmar, University of Alberta Associate Professor participated in the webinar, highlighting the current situation of the aging society in Japan and Alberta. Opinions were exchanged regarding the ideal way to care for the elderly in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, taking into account recent trends.
