Consul-General Uchida Attends the Floating Lantern Peace Ceremony

The Floating Lantern Peace Ceremony was held at Olympic Plaza in Calgary on Saturday, August 7. Consul-General Uchida attended and delivered remarks after hearing messages read aloud by children from the mayors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, as well as a message from Calgary’s Mayor Nenshi. Afterwards, there was a song performance by Indigenous singer Chantal Chagnon and Opera singer Leila Keith.
