First Webinar in the Series “The Path to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion: Approaches in Japan and Canada” on October 27

On Wednesday, October 27, the Prince Takamado Japan Centre of the University of Alberta held the webinar, “The Path to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion: Approaches in Japan and Canada” Series 1: “Indigenous Cultural Heritage and Museum,” sponsored by the Consulate-General of Japan in Calgary. The Executive Director of the National Ainu Museum, Dr. Shiro Sasaki, joined from Japan while Dr. Maddie Knickerbocker from Kwantlen Polytechnic University joined from Canada. Various ideas were discussed such as passing down indigenous culture in Japan and Canada, and the role that museums play, while citing recent case studies.
