Prince Takamado Japan Centre Webinar 2 of “The Path to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion: Approaches in Japan and Canada” Live on 1/13

On Thursday, January 13th, the Prince Takamado Japan Centre of the University of Alberta held the webinar, “The Path to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion: Approaches in Japan and Canada” Series 2: “Migration and Intersectionality” sponsored by the Consulate-General of Japan in Calgary.

Associate Professor of the Graduate School of Public Policy at Hokkaido University, Dr. Hyunjoo Naomi Chi from Japan, and Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Alberta, Dr. Sara Dorow from Canada, spoke about foreign workers and migrants in Japan and Canada, respectively. In addition to introducing the current situation and lifestyle comparisons of the migrants, and the exchanging of opinions, there was also a Q&A session with the viewers. Some of the questions touched upon various issues such as multiculturalism, the impact of female workers, and mental health.
