Consul-General Uchida attends the Alberta/Japan Twinned Municipalities Association Annual General Meeting 2022

On June 3rd and 4th, Consul-General Uchida participated in the 2022 Annual General Meeting of the Alberta/Japan Twinned Municipalities Association held in Taber, Alberta. A/JTMA is comprised of 12 municipalities within Alberta with Japanese sister cities. This AGM, the first in-person meeting in three years, representatives from Rocky Mountain House, Jasper, Wetaskiwin, Hanna, Lacombe and Barrhead gathered to report on their activities. The conference featured various cultural activities including a sake barrel ceremony, taiko drumming and minyo dancers. The atmosphere was eager with the desire to resume activities that had been put on hold due to COVID-19.
