2022/8/24
Consul-General Uchida delivered remarks at “Calgary Taiko Gathering: Stronger Together” which was held on July 22 and 23 at the Mount Royal University Conservatory.
Taiko players from Alberta, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec gathered for the first time in person. During this workshop, the performers played a melody entitled ‘Kyomei’ (resonance), specifically composed for this event. Participants took the opportunity to make a meaningful conference by performing concerts from their respective groups, discussing ways to create a stronger taiko community, and sharing knowledge and technical skills.
