Participation in Winnipeg Bon Odori Festival

The Winnipeg Bon Odori Festival was held on August 27 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, jointly hosted by the Japanese Canadian Association of Manitoba (JCAM) and the Consulate-General of Japan in Calgary. The guests enjoyed different types of Bon Odori dancing, including regional folk songs from Fukuoka and Tokyo. The lively venue was lined with booths featuring shaved ice, popular festival food as well as Japanese goods.
Consul-General Uchida delivered remarks, and there was also a booth by the Consulate-General of Japan in Calgary to introduce information about various Japanese localities and exchange programs such as the JET Programme.
