Consul-General Wajima Attends Otafest 2024

Otafest 2024, a Japanese animation-themed event, was held at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre from May 10th to 12th. This year, which marks the 26th anniversary, was attended by a record-breaking 11,765 enthusiastic cosplay, anime and manga fans. Consul-General Wajima attended and spoke at the Opening Ceremony on Friday. On Saturday, Consul-General also acted as an honorary judge for the Otafest Cosplay Contest. For the length of the festival, the Consulate-General of Japan in Calgary was present with a PR booth featuring Japanese water calligraphy, culture and sightseeing information, as well as information about exchange programs such as the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme.
