On June 12, 2024, Mr. Victor Norman Sawa, Honorary Consul-General of Japan in Regina, passed away.
Since his appointment as Honorary Consul-General of Japan in Regina in November 2011, Mr. Sawa had served as the Honorary Consul-General for over 12 years. During this period, he dedicated himself to fostering mutual understanding and relationship between Japan and Canada by leveraging his extensive network as a renowned musician. He also made a great contribution to developing the friendship between Regina and Fujioka, Gunma through his role as a bridge between the two communities.
