2025/8/18
On August 15th, Consul-General Wajima attended the graduation ceremony for the International exchange program organised by the York-Benimaru Foundation in Manitoba, at the invitation from Ms. Dori Gingera-Beauchemin, former Deputy Minister of Manitoba Agriculture.
Ms. Dori Gingera-Beauchemin, in cooperation with the York-Benimaru Foundation, the Manitoba 4-H Council, and the Manitoba Agriculture, has supported this high school students exchange program since 1987. Graduates of this program are now active in various fields, including the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Japanese companies such as HyLife and Kubota Canada have also provided long-term sponsorship support for this program.
The twenty high school students from Fukushima Prefecture, who visited Manitoba and completed a two-week homestay, were saddened to part from their host families. We wish the graduates every success in their future endeavours.
