Promotional Event for Nagasaki Wagyu

On September 2nd, Consul-General Wajima, in collaboration with the Nagasaki Wagyu Brand Promotion Council, hosted a promotional event for Nagasaki Wagyu at his official residence. The event welcomed representatives from local restaurants, the media, and food wholesalers.

The Nagasaki Wagyu Brand Promotion Council Prefectural Government delivered a presentation on the history and unique characteristics of Nagasaki Wagyu, followed by a tasting session featuring three dishes prepared by two chefs: Mr. Keisuke Oyama, the newly appointed Official Residence Chef, and Ms. Kanlaya Ngamkum, a Calgary-based chef. Each dish, made with Nagasaki Wagyu, was accompanied by an explanation from the chefs.

In addition to Wagyu, other regional specialties such as Nagasaki sake, ponzu, and somen noodles were also introduced. The event provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the rich culinary culture of Nagasaki and to highlight the appeal of Nagasaki Wagyu to food sector stakeholders in the local community.
