Inauguration Ceremony and Reception for the Honorary Consul-General of Japan in Regina

On May 9th, Consul-General Wajima hosted an inauguration ceremony and reception in Regina, Saskatchewan in honor of the new Honorary Consul-General of Japan in Regina, Mr. André Boutin-Maloney.

In the opening remarks, Consul-General Wajima highlighted Mr. Boutin-Maloney’s contributions to Japan-Canada exchange in Regina. Expressing confidence that Mr. Boutin-Maloney’s extensive experience and dedication would further strengthen the bilateral relationship, Consul-General Wajima presented the official letter of appointment.

Following this, Mr. Boutin-Maloney expressed gratitude to all the people involved, including the Japanese-Canadian community, and conveyed a strong commitment to making further contributions moving forward.

In addition, MP Michael Kram, Member of Parliament for Regina—Wascana, offered warm congratulations and presented a certificate of recognition to Mr. Boutin-Maloney. Finally, the Honorable Todd Goudy, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, delivered the toast.
