Winnipeg Bon Odori Festival

On June 20, the Winnipeg Bon Odori Festival was held in Winnipeg, Manitoba, jointly hosted by the Japanese Cultural Association of Manitoba (JCAM) and the Consulate-General of Japan in Calgary.
Following the opening remarks by Jim Suzuki, President of JCAM, Markus Chambers, Deputy Mayor of Winnipeg, delivered a guest speech. In addition, a message from Consul-General Wajima was presented.
The guests enjoyed Japanese culture and summer traditions including Bon Odori dancing, shaved ice, and watermelon splitting (suikawari), creating a lively atmosphere.
