Winnipeg Bon Odori Festival (June 24th)
The Winnipeg Bon Odori Festival was held on June 24 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, jointly hosted by the Japanese Canadian Association of Manitoba (JCAM) and the Consulate-General of Japan in Calgary. The guests enjoyed different types of Bon Odori dancing, including regional folk songs, Karaoke sing-a-long and the watermelon hit activity. The lively venue was lined with booths featuring shaved ice, popular festival food as well as Japanese goods. There was also a booth by the Consulate-General of Japan in Calgary to introduce information about tourism and education in japan such as JET Programme.
